Can I PLEASE Go Back to School??

Is anybody else dying to go back to school or is it just me?  I MISS my kids.  I knew I would miss the some, but I didn't think I would miss them this much!!  OY!

During the two week break I've been trying to get a lot of things accomplished.  I've spent about three days in my classroom trying to rearrange and clean/organize and get ready for January.

Today, while looking for center activities etc. for my kiddos, I've ran across so amazing kindergarten blogs!!  Here are my top three I've found today.

3)  Live Love Laugh.  So much stuff!!  WONDERFUL stuff!

2)  Miss Kindergarten.  Oh.  My. Gracious.  She has created AMAZING things!!  You should totally check  out her blog and teacherspayteachers store.

1)  Kindergarten Smiles.  This has by far, been my greatest find today.  Her website is extremely cute and she has a load of great information!

Happy New Years, guys!

Say Hello To: Sparkle

Elf On the Shelf is all the rage these days, including in our classroom.  We read the story the other day and then the students had to choose a name for her!  (She's a girl, has a skirt, SOO cute!!)  They each suggested a name.  One of my favorites that were thrown out there was "Kung-Fu Panda".  :D:D  But we ended up settling on Sparkle and they are H.A.P.P.Y.

Here is a couple of things she's done in our classroom.

Introducing Herself.

Reading is AMAZING!

She's also been in our Christmas Tree, and Monday she'll be writing on a Magic Board in one of the centers.

Do you use Elf On the Shelf in your classroom?  If so, what amazing things does she do?

December

I'm terrible at blogging I suppose because I can't ever seem to keep up with them, even if I want to.  But then again, life has been so busy here lately except the past week or two that I haven't even been able to think straight!  But here's a quick update on my kiddies.

Yesterday they had their first snow day and they were so excited about it!!  It sleeted and sleeted and then it snowed and snowed and snowed!!  I can't wait to hear about their stories when we get back to school!

We finished learning about the letters of the alphabet a few weeks ago and now we've moved on to sounds.  It is so AMAZING to me to see them catch on to stuff and I get so excited - probably more than they do!!

So proud of them and all of their hard work!

Our Christmas Tree (:

SNOW!

The Beginning

If you read the "About Me" info, you'll see that I'm about to begin my first year of teaching Kindergarten.  It's also my first year to teach in a public school.  I've taught one year in a daycare/preschool setting as the Pre-K teacher.

I have been hired....I'm teaching Kindergarten.....I know which classroom is mine...and...well, that's about all I know (:  You see, the school district where I've been hired on at has been building a new school and it's going to be open for the brand new school year!!  How exciting!!  Right?!?!

Oh yea, I'm beyond excited...but when I start thinking about how my classroom is COMPLETELY EMPTY, Open House is on the 15th, this is my first year teaching, I've never set up a classroom before AND I have this feeling that I don't know what I'm doing...*deep breath*...It gets just a tad bit overwhelming (:

However, I have two other Kindergarten teachers who have already been helping me and taking care of me SOO much!!  Plus I have family & friends that keep offering to come and help if I need them to (:  So that helps with the "overwhelmingness"  of it all.

You guys - I'm SOOOO excited to begin - I can't wait to start teaching.

What advice would you give me??
